Jensen Ackles Wants to Join DCU as Batman
There’s a new sheriff in Gotham, and actor Jensen Ackles is keen to stare broodingly over the city as Batman for the upcoming live-action film proposed by DC Studios.
Last weekend, the 45-year-old who played Dean Winchester in the “Supernatural” series, was asked at the Jus In Bello Convention in Italy if he was lined up to play Bruce Wayne’s alter-ego.
“Uh, I don’t know. Even if I knew I wouldn’t tell you,” he said while confirming he would jump at the chance.
“Will I be mad when Pedro Pascal gets it? Yeah. God bless you, Pedro. You just keep killing it, buddy. Let me know when you pass on something,” Ackles jokingly went on.
James Gunn and Peter Safran, both chairmen and CEOs of DC Studios, previously talked about the next film in the franchise, titled “Batman: Brave and the Bold”, back in January.
On 15 June, it was announced that “The Flash” director, Andy Muschietti, would lead the upcoming project, which will explore Bruce Wayne’s relationship with his biological son, Damian, as the youth fights crime as Robin.
Fans will have to wait and see if their favourite Winchester brother gets to be the Dark Knight. Ackles says he “would love it”, and wants the studio to “sign” him up.
