Leeds Sack Jesse Marsch
Yet another English Premier League (EPL) coach bites the dust after Leeds United sacked Jesse Marsch on Monday, 6 February.
Following their 1-0 loss to Nottingham Forest the day before – as well as previous losses to the likes of Aston Villa, Manchester City and AS Monaco FC among others – the Whites posted a statement on their official website.
“Leeds United can confirm head coach Jesse Marsch has been relieved of his duties,” it reads. “Jesse joined the club in February 2022 and was instrumental in keeping the club in the Premier League on the final day of last season.”
Backroom staff including coaches Rene Maric, Cameron Toshack and Pierre Barrieu have also been dismissed alongside the 49-year-old American just one year after his appointment.
“We would like to thank Jesse and his backroom staff for their efforts and wish them well for the future,” the statement ends, adding that the search for a new manager is currently underway.
Leeds are in 17th place on the EPL table with 18 points – just one precarious spot above the relegation zone.
