Man U Claim Top Four EPL Finish

Manchester United secured themselves a top-four finish in the English Premier League (EPL) after thrashing Chelsea 4-1 on Thursday, 25 May.

With their home victory at Old Trafford Stadium in Manchester, England the Red Devils have also claimed a spot in the UEFA Champions League next season.

The hosts were confident from the start of the game, as midfielder Casemiro scored the first goal only six minutes after the starting whistle, with help from his teammate, Christian Eriksen.

Striker Anthony Martial secured the second point for Man United six minutes into halftime, putting their visitors on edge. His teammate, midfielder Bruno Fernandes, had his chance to shine at the 73rd-minute mark, taking full advantage of a penalty kick and scoring the third goal.

Just five minutes later, striker Marcus Rashford claimed the fourth and final goal for United, sealing their victory.

The Blues were able to score a single, consolatory goal in the 89th minute, with some quick footwork by striker João Félix and his teammate, Hakim Ziyech. However, it was simply too little, too late by that point.

Chelsea fans seemed unimpressed with either side, as they took the chance to self-deprecatingly chant: “We lose every week. You’re nothing special. We lose every week” to their Man City counterparts.
