Man United Narrowly Snag FA Cup Victory
Manchester United nearly fumbled a healthy lead in the Football Association (FA) Challenge Cup semi-final against Coventry City, but the club were able to snare a 4-2 aggregate victory at the last minute.
The two teams went head-to-head at Wembley Stadium in London, England last night, Sunday 21 April.
The Red Devils were able to establish a 3-0 lead without much opposition during the first 70 minutes of the match. However, it seems as if overconfidence may have nearly been their undoing.
Coventry went on to make an astonishing comeback, scoring three points between the 71st minute and the 95-minute mark. However, after a nail-biting VAR review, the final goal for the Sky Blues was ruled out.
“We can play on very high levels, but we can go to very low levels in the same game,” said Man United manager, Erik ten Hag, during the post-match interview.
Ten Hag went on to add: “That’s not explainable. I have to teach my players, clearly. We have to do better on such occasions. On several occasions, we let each other down. Today we got away with it.”
As a result of the match, the Red Devils will be facing off against Manchester City on 25 May in the FA Cup final.
