Metro FM Clarifies Hosts’ Suspension Statuses
Musa Khawula has claimed that Metro FM has suspended two of their hosts, Luthando “Lootlove” Shosha and Lamiez Holworthy, for attending political rallies.
“Metro FM suspends Luthando Shozi better known as LootLove and Lamiez Holworthy for attending the African National Congress rallies,” the controversial blogger said via X, formerly known as Twitter, this morning, Monday 3 June.
The South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) was quick to respond to the rumours. Mmoni Seapolelo, the Acting Group Executive of Corporate Affairs and Marketing at the SABC, spoke with several local publications.
“The SABC can confirm that METRO FM on-air presenter Luthando “Lootlove” Shosha was unscheduled from her programme, but will be back on-air today,” Seapolelo said of the deejay, who co-hosts the “Touch Down” with Tbo Touch.
She later added: “The SABC is not at liberty to go into the details of the matter concerning the individual, except to say that hosting of political rallies and/or public association with political parties, goes against the SABC’s editorial policy which is a public document.”
Seapolelo went on to clarify that Holworthy – who hosts “Penthouse Sessions” with Lulo Cafe on Saturdays – had not been suspended or unscheduled.
