Neymar Suffers Serious Injury

Neymar left the pitch on a stretcher and in tears during his Paris Saint-Germain’s (PSG)’s 1-0 defeat to Lyon on Sunday, 13 December, at Parc des Princes stadium in Paris, France .

The Brazilian international was seen screaming in intense pain and holding his ankle after a reckless challenge from Lyon’s midfielder, Thiago Mendes, who received an immediate red card after the incident..

PSG has yet to confirm the severity of the injury, however, early suspicions suggest it could be very serious, and might sideline the 28-year-old forward for months. 

The club’s head coach, Thomas Tuchel, said they are waiting on test results to establish how serious the injury was.

He said: “[Neymar] is with the physio and the doctors and we have to wait for the tests tomorrow, Monday [14 December ].

PSG’s most valued goal-scorer has had several injuries since signing up in August 2017, but this one could be the worst of them all.
