Ntseki Provides Updates on Injured Petersen, Matlou
Kaizer Chiefs boss Molefi Ntseki has provided an update on two of his players who are currently out with injuries.
Goalkeeper Brandon Petersen has missed two league games as a result of an undisclosed injury. Team-mate George Matlou is in the same boat as Petersen, his own yet-to-be-revealed injury keeping him on the sidelines during Amakhosi’s recent 1-0 loss to Cape Town City.
Following the Carling Knockout Cup draw on Thursday, 12 October, Ntseki gave a somewhat promising update on both Petersen and Matlou during a media scrum.
“It was a big loss for the club, for all of us when the two players got injured,” he said. “But I think the recovery period is good enough for us to have them maybe available for selection because I think the medical team is working around the clock, especially for players that are going through back-to-play or back-to-training protocols.”
A hopeful Ntseki added that “by the time we go into the next game, all players will be available for selection.”
Kaizer Chiefs are scheduled to play against Golden Arrows on Saturday, 28 October.
