Police Reignite Search for 2Pac’s Killer

Police in Nevada have unveiled new details about the ongoing investigation into the murder of 2Pac, real name Tupac Shakur, one of the best-known rappers of all time.

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) released a statement to an international publication on Tuesday, 18 July, saying: “LVMPD can confirm a search warrant was served in Henderson, Nevada, on July 17, 2023, as part of the ongoing Tupac Shakur homicide investigation. We will have no further comment at this time.”

Henderson is a suburb of Las Vegas where Shakur was gunned down in September 1996, at the age of 25 years old. He died from his wounds in a nearby hospital six days later.

While the authorities were mum about whether they had found any new clues in the old case, they seemed to have hope for a breakthrough. “It’s a case that’s gone unsolved and hopefully, one day, we can change that,” LVMPD Lieutenant, Jason Johansson, told a separate publication.

Shakur’s biological father, Billy Garland, also sat down for an interview with “The Art of Dialogue” last month in which he claimed that the government of the United States of America was involved in the death of his son.
