Sadio Mane Struggles After Liverpool Exit
Sadio Mane joined Bayern Munich after a glittering, six-year, trophy-filled stint with Liverpool, but despite a goal-filled start he has started to lose form, which begs the question: is the grass greener on the other side?
The 30-year-old Senegalese forward joined the Bundesliga outfit in June this year on a three-year contract worth £27.1 million and scored in nearly every game initially, but Bayern’s last five games have painted a picture of a player struggling to adjust.
There are now speculations that he is unhappy at Allianz Arena, but FCB coach Julian Nagelsmann told a German news outlet that Mane “has to get used to the Bundesliga.”
“I know what it’s like to arrive as a newcomer to a team, in a different country, in a different city, in a slightly different football culture. Sadio is in this process, everything will soon be more familiar to him and we will soon see that on the pitch, too,” he added.
Rumours were rife that Mane’s Anfield exit was primarily due to his icy relationship with Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp, and that he has yet to shake off the last vestiges.
