Van Dijk Signs on For 4 Years at Liverpool
Virgil van Dijk has cemented his place at Anfield by putting pen for a new four-year contract with Liverpool.
The Reds made an official announcement on Friday, 13 August – that the 30-year-old centre-back had committed his future to the club until the summer of 2025.
When asked how he felt about signing his new deal, the Dutch international revealed that he is “happy and proud” to be part of Liverpool.
Van Dijk said: “Amazing. It is something to be very proud of, that I am very proud of, that my wife and my kids are very proud of and obviously my agency.”
He added: “All the hard work we’ve put in so far continues and I am looking forward to what the future brings together with Liverpool. Since day one when I joined the club, I felt so much appreciation from the fans and from my teammates and the staff.”
The superstar footballer has just recovered from knee surgery, and is ready for the new 2021/22 campaign which kicks off for the Reds on Saturday, 14 August, at Norwich City facing the home team.
