Catch up on the latest news, rumours and announcements from the world of video games, tech and entertainment:
– Riot Games, the studio behind “League of Legends” and “Valorant”, has laid off 32 employees. According to a tweet from co-founder Marc Merrill, these lay-offs were aimed at ensuring the company has the appropriate expertise for their future games rather than being a money-saving measure.
– American game streamer Zack Hoyt, better known as Asmongold, has been banned from Twitch after embarking on a racist rant about Palestinians during a recent livestream. While the ban was enforced on Asmongold’s secondary account, it also extended to his main channel, preventing him from streaming there as well. Asmongold has since offered an apology over the incident.
– A recent patch for “Overwatch 2” now enables players to report or mute the text chat of other users directly from the interactive scoreboard.
– A release date for the film adaptation of the horror game, “Until Dawn”, has been revealed. It is set to hit theatres on 25 April 2025.
