West Ham Set Sights on Chelsea Striker

West Ham United are apparently dead-set on signing Chelsea striker, Armando Broja.

According to reports, the Hammers are looking for “a striker, a left-back and cover for Declan Rice and Tomas Soucek in central midfield”, hence their strong interest in Broja.

The 20-year-old Albanian international, who was on loan to Southampton last season, scored nine goals in 38 appearances in all competitions; as such, the Saints want to keep him at the club on a permanent basis.

West Ham and Chelsea have yet to confirm the asking price – which could potentially be up to £30 million – due to an ongoing executive shuffle at the latter club: Bruce Buck, their chairman and key negotiator, is stepping down at the end of the month, while director Marina Granovskaia’s future is up in the air.

If anything, new owner Todd Boehly and manager Thomas Tuchel will have the final say regarding Broja’s future.

Broja signed a new five-year deal with the Blues back in 2021, so we’ll just have to wait and see which club he’ll stick with.
