Amakhosi Extend Player Trio’s Contracts
Three Kaizer Chiefs players have had their contracts renewed.
On Thursday, 8 February, Amakhosi announced that goalkeepers Brandon Petersen and Bruce Bvuma, as well as midfielder Nkosingiphile Ngcobo, have all been awarded two-year contracts.
“Brandon Petersen has penned a new two-year contract that will see him at Kaizer Chiefs until the end of June 2026, with an option to possibly add another year,” they confirmed via a series of tweets on Twitter/X.
Likewise, both Bvuma and Ngcobo will also remain at Naturena until June 2026 “with an option to extend for a further year.”
While Bvuma has become the starting goalkeeper of choice, having kept a clean sheet in three of Chiefs’ last four games, Petersen has become almost infamous for his consistent handling errors during matches.
As for Ngcobo, the 24-year-old midfielder is seen as somewhat of a revelation in the eyes of caretaker coach Cavin Johnson, who previously hailed him as “the young Chiefs player for the future”, despite only scoring one goal in nine league games this season.
Only time will tell if these renewals will bear fruit in the long-term.
