Aston Villa Look to Offload Morgan Rogers
Aston Villa could consider transfer offers exceeding £100 million for forward Morgan Rogers this summer, despite securing UEFA Champions League qualification and winning the Europa League.
The 23-year-old talismanic player starred in Villa’s historic 3-0 Europa League final victory over SC Freiburg in Istanbul, Turkiye, recording a goal and an assist to end the club’s three-decade major trophy drought. The triumph marked manager Unai Emery’s fifth Europa League title.
Rogers revealed in a recent interview that his clinical performance followed relentless instructions from Emery: “The manager’s been banging on to me about getting more easy goals and to get into the box. [I’m] happy I could get there and get a toe on it to score.”
Former Villa defender Alan Hutton admitted that a nine-figure fee would be difficult for the club to refuse, as the funds could be strategically reinvested to establish the Villans as perennials at European football’s top table.
While heavyweights like Bayern Munich, Manchester United and Real Madrid circle the 2025 PFA Young Player of the Year, the Villans remain in a powerful negotiating position.
Rogers is under contract until 2031, meaning the club will not part with their star asset easily. However, reports indicate Villa are already monitoring Sporting CP’s £80 million-rated Pedro Goncalves as a potential replacement.
