Celeb Twitter Round-Up: Black Coffee Celebrates 50 Years

Nkosinathi Innocent Maphumulo, AKA Black Coffee, celebrated 50 years on this planet last Wednesday, 11 March, and the festivities were as posh as they were star-studded!

The Black Coffee Foundation was the first to fire off the birthday tributes, along with a few praises for the South African deejay.

One can only imagine that he must have had a heck of a night partying because he only tweeted about it the day after! Showing off a couple of photos with him either strutting his stuff in stylish threads, or walking his beloved dogs.

His fans arrived en masse to wish the maestro on achieving five decades.

Of course these Twitter/X streets are as weird as they are unforgiving at the best of times, and there were those who acknowledged his inspiration. Just not in the way you would expect!

As true as there is a sky, there are at least a couple of tweeps making jokes in the comments. This user went so far as to ask for a job as Grootman’s gardener.

And then you had this jokester referencing his 2020 divorce from Enhle Mbali Mlotshwa.

Social media did little to stop the party bus into the after week festivities!

His birthday bash, held at the Beau Constantia in Cape Town, was full of local and international celebs, sharing the merriment all weekend long. Comedian Mpho Popps was the master of ceremonies and had folks chuckling while Biko’s Manna kept the music flowing.

Black Coffee’s girlfriend of seven years, Victoria Gonzalez, gave a speech to her talented beau.

You can tell there must have been incredible beats happening at this gig, and then you had a deejay who got to meet his idol and shared the proof in the early hours of Monday morning.

Some people just can’t be happy for others, but luckily there are those who stand at the ready to rein in those unruly types.

Fan or not, the gift of life is precious and Black Coffee is living it after building up his brand over the five decades of his years!
