Celeb Twitter Round-Up: Millicent Makhado Lifts Lid on Husband’s Cheating Ways

Eish! Some people just don’t like to be held down by the marriage knot, hey? That’s the gist we’re getting from actress Millicent Makhado, and the responses she has received from fans and non-fans alike.

In a recently-deleted tweet, Makhado – known for playing Agnes Mukwevho on the SABC2 soapie, “Muvhango” – revealed that her second husband, Jabulani Chauke, cheated on her with another woman. What’s more, he fathered a child with his mistress:

Wow. “God bless them”, indeed.

In other since-deleted tweets, Makhado – who married Chauke in 2016 following the breakdown of her first marriage, and shares a child with him – described her pain and anguish: “God knew I would need a shoulder to cry on today. He made sure I was not alone, today was the worst day of my life. I don’t know what would have happened if I was alone.”

The 42-year-old added her thoughts about the “other woman”, and she was surprisingly classy about it.

“Yes, I am very strong but even the other woman is strong,” she wrote. “I also speak for the lady who is involved in this situation. She is an amazing woman who doesn’t deserve this pain. She gave birth to a beautiful innocent baby who needs both parents and all our love and support.”

Over on Twitter/X, tweeps bemoaned the fact that marriage isn’t as sacred as it used to be, and that men are to blame:

There were some users like @IAMTHEEPREACHER who reckoned this is why polygamy should be encouraged in order to prevent infidelity:

At which @sarai_tee clapped back with this case-in-point response:

Meanwhile, Makhado’s fans expressed their pain at their fave getting hurt, so they buoyed her with some supportful messages:

Well, here’s hoping that Makhado will find happiness once more. And, with children in the picture (Chauke’s son with Makhado and his son with his mistress), everyone will act responsibly and do what’s right to ensure their wellbeing.
