Celeb Twitter Round-Up: #RIPPearlShongwe – Tweeps Say Goodbye

South Africans are in mourning following the unexpected passing of Metro FM newsreader and sports presenter, Pearl Shongwe.

On Tuesday evening, 8 November, the South African Broadcasting Corporation tweeted out the sad news:

According to reports, as well as a statement from family spokesperson Khehla Tshabalala, the 35-year-old passed away in her sleep at her home at The Polofields estate in Johannesburg’s Waterfall area. The exact cause of death is not yet known.

At once, heartbroken friends, colleagues, fans and celebs alike expressed their shock, sadness and condolences on Twitter. They also paid tribute to Shongwe, sharing their fondest memories of her:
