Chiefs Aim to Extend Strong Start

Kaizer Chiefs are aiming to continue their strong start to the Betway Premier Soccer League tonight, when they take on Polokwane City at the FNB Stadium in Johannesburg tonight.

Amakhosi started their season on a high, beating a formidable Stellenbosch FC last Sunday, 2-0.

With head coach Nasreddine Nabi away in Tunisia for a family emergency, assistants Cedric Kaze and Khalil Ben Youssef guided the side to a dominant 2–0 victory — their fourth consecutive win in all competitions under Nabi’s reign.

Chiefs have been working hard during their off-season to bounce back from a very poor showing during the 2024/2025 campaign, in which they finished ninth.

They have also bolstered their squad for the 2025/26 season by signing striker Flavio Silva, midfielder Ethan Chislett, versatile left-back Nkanyiso Shinga, defenders Paseka Mako and Thabiso Monyane, midfielders Siphesihle Ndlovu and Thabo Cele, and forward Glody Makabi Lilepo.

This season brings a fresh test for Chiefs, as they aim to elevate their domestic performances while juggling the added demands of competing in the CAF Confederation Cup.
