DaBaby is Coming to SA!

American rapper DaBaby will be joining South Africans in celebrating Freedom Day.

On Wednesday, 3 April, local music publication “SA Hip Hop 24/7” published a video clip via Instagram, in which DaBaby announced that he will be performing in Johannesburg, Gauteng on 27 April.

“Johannesburg, South Africa, I can’t wait to see y’all,” the “Suge” hitmaker is heard saying. “It’s a special occasion … I will be there celebrating 30 years of freedom with you all. South Africa, I can’t wait to see you all.”

Per Ticketpro, DaBaby will be performing at Mary Fitzgerald Square in Newtown at 4PM on Saturday, 27 April until midnight (Sunday, 28 April). Ticket prices range between R500 and R1000.

South Africa’s own Nadia Nakai, DJ Maphorisa and Kabza De Small are reportedly among the main supporting acts at the Freedom Day show.

This will be DaBaby’s first time visiting the country: he was scheduled to perform at the FNB Stadium last September before the show was postponed to 18 November (and moved to Mary Fitzgerald Square, a smaller venue). However, that event was cancelled, allegedly due to low ticket sales.
