It’s the final day of the transfer season today, Friday 1 September, and all of the major clubs from the United Kingdom and Europe are fighting to secure the best last-minute deal.
Chelsea have officially announced the signing of midfielder Cole Palmer via their website today, saying they were “delighted” to have him join the team on a seven-year contract in a deal worth £40 million, with a potential £2.5 million further in add-ons.
The 21-year-old English professional had a medical examination with the club yesterday, Thursday 31 August, before transferring across from English Premier League (EPL) rivals, Manchester City.
Nottingham Forest have also raided the Arsenal of their EPL rivals, signing defender Nuno Tavares on a season-long loan deal from the Gunners. “I’m really happy to be here,” said the 23-year-old Portuguese star in a statement on Forest’s official website.
Manchester United were eager to share the news of their latest signing, taking to Twitter to announce that goalkeeper Altay Bayindir will be joining from Turkish side, Fenerbahçe SK, for £4.3 million.
Finally, Wolverhampton Wanderers joined the fray by signing midfielder Tommy Doyle on a season-long loan from Man City.
