Fiacre Ntwari Poised to Become Chiefs’ #1 Shotstopper
Kaizer Chiefs’ latest signing, Fiacre Ntwari, is positioned to become the club’s first-choice goalkeeper.
Last month, Ntwari departed from TS Galaxy to join Chiefs on a four-year deal with a one-year option to extend.
Now, according to reports, the 24-year-old Rwandan international – who kept nine clean sheets and conceded 23 goals for Galaxy last season – is set to take over as the primary goalkeeper for the Glamour Boys.
Brandon Petersen and Bruce Bvuma, both 29-years-old, have served as the club’s first-choice shotstoppers in recent seasons.
However, Ntwari’s signing – along with his youth, his stand-out performances at Galaxy and his impressive height of 1.9 metres – appears to have earned him the nod from Chiefs’ coaching staff.
Kaizer Chiefs are set to face Marumo Gallants at Toyota Stadium in Bloemfontein, Free State on 14 September. It remains to be seen whether or not Ntwari will make his starting debut in that match.
