Goodbye to Goodison: Everton’s Emotional Farewell

Everton will bid farewell to their iconic Goodison Park in Liverpool, England, when they play their final match against Southampton on Sunday, 18 May.

After more than 130 years at the historic ground, the Toffees will move to their new £750-million stadium up the road at Bramley-Moore Dock next season, however Goodison will remain in use for the women’s team.

The last game at Goodison will be a highly emotional occasion for fans, many of whom have made countless memories in the stadium over the years. From thrilling victories to heartbreaking defeats, the ground has been the backdrop for some of the club’s most defining moments.

Everton’s last match will see attendees break stringent English Premier League protocol, as they will be allowed to drink alcohol in the stands for the “End of an Era” show after the game, celebrating the club’s rich history.

Despite excitement for the new stadium, the farewell will be bittersweet as fans reflect on the passion, history and moments of joy that have defined Goodison Park for generations of Everton supporters.
