Liverpool Emerge Victorious Over Rangers

Liverpool achieved a comfortable 2-0 victory over Rangers FC on Tuesday, 4 October.

The match, which was held at Anfield Stadium in Liverpool, England, marked the third day of the UEFA Champions League and brought the English club closer to the knockout stage.

Reds defender Trent Alexander-Arnold recently received heavy criticism from pundits for his poor performance during the 3-3 draw with Brighton last Saturday, 1 October. However, just seven minutes into last night’s match, he redeemed himself by scoring the first point against the Rangers in a free kick.

The rest of the match was comparatively quiet, with one yellow card awarded to midfielder John Lundstramf from the Scottish side for tripping Liverpool’s Diogo Jota.

Egyptian forward Mohamed Salah scored the final point of the match at the 53rd minute with a penalty goal that was awarded due to some clumsy footwork as the two teams fought for the ball.

In an interview following the game, defender Virgil van Dijk praised his team-mate, Alexander-Arnold, for his tenacity despite the recent criticisms, saying: “For him to just carry on working – not only him but other players as well – deal with it and show reaction today is what we need, all of us.”
