Luke Shaw Strikes Back at Mourinho’s Constant Criticism
England and Manchester United defender, Luke Shaw, has hit back at his former manager, Jose Mourinho, for always criticising him, claiming that the football tactician is stuck in the past and still obsessed with him.
Mourinho, who is a pundit at the current EURO 2020 tournament slammed Shaw’s corner pass during his country’s victory against the Czech Republic last week Tuesday, 22 June – labelling the defender’s delivery as “dramatically bad.”
The 58-year-old Portuguese international managed Shaw for over two seasons at Manchester United and he allegedly subjected the player to a number of verbal attacks – some of which took place publicly.
However, this latest criticism prompted the player’s response to his former manager.
He said: “[Mourinho] didn’t like me. I tried as hard as I could to get back on his side but it never worked out, no matter what I did”.
Shaw added: “It is time to move on. I am trying to move on but, obviously, he can’t. Clearly I am in his head a lot and he clearly thinks about me a lot.”
