Magesi FC Axes 10 Players From Roster

Magesi FC have released a whopping ten players ahead of the 2025/26 Betway Premiership season.
On Sunday, 29 June, the 2024 Carling Knockout Cup champions revealed on their website that head coach Owen Da Gama would be departing, ending his six-month tenure.
As part of their squad overhaul, a subsequent statement confirmed the exit of the ten players.
Affected players include Gift Motupa, Neverdie Makhubela, Deolin Mekoa Rhulani Manzini, Amos Mokwena, Boikanyo Komane, Maboke Matlakala, Anathi Ngwadla, Given Mashikinya and Menzi Ndwandwe.
“Dikwena Tša Meetse would like to thank them for their contribution to the club and wishes [sic] them all the best in their respective endeavours,” the statement reads. “Further structural changes in preparation for the upcoming season will be announced in due course.”
This overhaul comes nearly a month after Magesi secured a 13th-place finish in the Premiership, accumulating 31 points. They narrowly avoided relegation to the Motsepe Foundation Championship – the league from which they were promoted in 2024 – finishing just two spots above the drop zone.
Here’s hoping this overhaul will be worth it once the new season starts!
