Mampintsha Hospitalised After Sudden Stroke
Musician and producer Mandla “Mampintsha” Maphumulo has suffered a stroke and is currently at King Edward Hospital in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal, his label Afrotainment has revealed.
The label shared the news via an official announcement on Twitter and Instagram on Thursday, 22 December, however, the former Big Nuz artist reportedly suffered the stroke a week prior.
“He is currently in hospital receiving medical attention and is under doctors observation,” the post said before asking that people keep Mampintsha in their thoughts and prayers.
The 40-year-old is married to gqom artist, Babes Wodumo, and the pair have a one-year-old child together. In the statement, Afrotainment requested that the public and media give the family their privacy during the trying time.
Support has been flooding in for the artist from across social media platforms. Hip Hop producer Da L.E.S. tweeted, saying: “Prayers for a speedy recovery by Mampintsha and his family.”
Socialite ZaMangethe also posted to Twitter, saying: “I really need Mampintsha and everyone else out there suffering from a stroke to heal.
“Nothing breaks my heart like seeing a person who was fully capable not being able to do anything by themselves anymore. My dad died of a stroke, I hate it,” she added.
