Manchester City Clobber Club Brugge 4-1
Manchester City made a grab for a place among the UEFA Champions League (UCL) last 16 after they ran riot 4-1 over Club Brugge on Wednesday night, 3 November.
The City of Manchester Stadium saw the home team open up the proceedings with a goal from midfielder Phil Foden at the 15th-minute mark. Shockingly, his team-mate John Stones put the visitors on the board two minutes later with an own goal.
However, the rest of the City squad made sure to add three more: Riyad Mahrez just as the second half started; Raheem Sterling at the 72nd minute; finally, Gabriel Jesus put the team up one more score two minutes into extra time.
City boss, Pep Guardiola, was all smiles in the post-match interview: “Fully deserved. I liked how we played. After conceding we dropped a little bit, but the second half was really good.”
The final result has put Man City up nine points in Group A – one more than Paris Saint-Germain – with a commanding lead to getting into the UCL playoffs.
