Mzansi Icons Celebrate Mother’s Day

Sunday, 13 May, was a special day for many Mzansi celebrities as they honoured the important women in their lives for Mother’s Day.

Kicking off the proceedings was multi-award-winning musician, Cassper Nyovest, who wished his baby mama, Thobeka Majozi, his mom, and all mothers a happy Mother’s Day in a heartfelt post on Instagram.

“Happy Mother’s Day to all the beautiful mothers. Thank you for your gift of life and all your sacrifices. Thank you for nurturing us and loving us. May God bless you further,” he said in the caption of a picture of Majozi and their son, followed by his mom and aunts.

Musician and actress, Thembi Seete, also shared an earnest message for the woman who raised her: “Happy Mother’s Day in heaven, mom. We miss you more than words can express, but I’m grateful for our time together and our memories. You will always be in my heart and on my mind.”

South African rugby royalty, Siya Kolisi, recognised the queen in his life, Rachel, with a simple message atop of several pictures of their extended family grinning broadly together.

Fezile Mkhize, medical doctor and television presenter, made sure to give thanks to his loved one: “Mom, you are my greatest hero! Mothers all over the world are heroes to everyone they have raised and you are certainly mine.”
