Napoli Offer Lifeline to Liverpool’s Federico Chiesa

Federico Chiesa is set to depart Liverpool this summer, with Serie A leaders Napoli poised to offer him an escape route following a disappointing spell at Anfield.
The 27-year-old winger joined the Reds from Juventus less than a year ago in a deal worth approximately £12.5 million. However, injury setbacks and fierce competition from Mohamed Salah limited him to only 13 appearances in all competitions.
Despite Arne Slot leading the English Premier League champions to a title-winning campaign, the Italy international struggled to make an impact, prompting fresh links to a Serie A return.
According to reports, Gli Azzurri have stepped up talks with Liverpool, proposing a loan deal with an option to buy. The Merseyside club, however, are pushing for an obligation to buy as they look to recoup their investment.
Chiesa is reportedly keen on the move, viewing a return to Italy as a chance to revitalise his career and reclaim his place in the national team.
While Napoli also hold interest in Manchester City’s Kevin De Bruyne, Chiesa is seen as a more realistic transfer target as the Italians aim to bolster their squad ahead of another domestic and European season.
