New PSL Season Kick-Off Date Revealed

A new season brings a new sponsor, and now the Premier Soccer League (PSL) has a new kick-off date.

Earlier this week, Betway was announced as DStv’s replacement for the title sponsorship of the PSL. Per reports, the league signed a three-year deal, worth R900 million, with the online gambling company.

On that note, the 2024/2025 Betway Premiership season will officially begin on 14 September, starting with a match between reigning PSL champions, Mamelodi Sundowns, and SuperSport United at Loftus Versfeld in Pretoria, Gauteng.

Three more matches will also take place that same day: Royal AM and Cape Town City at Harry Gwala Stadium in Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu-Natal; Orlando Pirates and Chippa United at Orlando Stadium in Soweto, Gauteng; and Marumo Gallants and Kaizer Chiefs at Toyota Stadium in Bloemfontein, Free State.

Before the league season begins, the MTN8 tournament will commence next Saturday, 3 August, which will see reigning champions Pirates playing against SuperSport at Orlando Stadium.
