Riky Rick’s Last Message to His Family

In the aftermath of his death, Riky Rick apparently left a suicide note addressed to his wife and two children.

The 34-year-old rapper – real name Rikhado Makhado – passed away last Wednesday, 23 February. The cause of death has not been confirmed, although he is presumed to have taken his own life.

On Sunday, 27 February, a local media outlet published what appears to be Rick’s private letter to his wife, Bianca Naidoo, and their sons Maik and Jordan, which was left behind in the wake of his death.

To Naidoo, he wrote: “This pain is too much. I don’t want you to blame yourself for my life being unbearable. This was the greatest period of my life. You gave me more love than I deserved. Please do not blame yourself. Live your life. Don’t hide the light you gave me every day.”

To Maik and Jordan, he encouraged them to “follow your passions”, to “keep each other close”, and begged them not to blame themselves for the pain he was going through.

Rick’s funeral will take place at a private ceremony in Johannesburg tomorrow, Tuesday 1 March, and will start at 10AM.
