Sekhukhune Grasp 2-0 Win Over Orlando Pirates

Sekhukhune United beat Orlando Pirates 2-0 at Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane on Tuesday, 4 October.

Sekhuhune opened the scoreboard well into the 84th minute when Elias Mokwana shot past Richard Ofori to fire a curler off the left foot into the back of the net.

Come stoppage time, team-mate Vusumzi Mncube managed to double the lead, allowing Babina Noko to attain victory.

As for Pirates, all they got for their troubles was a red card when right-back Thabiso Monyane got booked for a challenge on Mncube in the 58th minute.

Sekhukhune are now sitting pretty at 11th place on the Premier Soccer League rankings with 10 points; the Bucs are still seven places ahead with 14 points, but doubtlessly this match served as a reminder to not overestimate their opponents.

Sekhukhune United are set to take on SuperSport United this Friday, 7 October; Orlando Pirates is scheduled to play against Richards Bay on Saturday, 8 October.
