Sergio Aguero Joins Barcelona
Outgoing Manchester City striker, Sergio Aguero, is heading to FC Barcelona.
In a statement released on Monday, 31 May, the Spanish club confirmed that they had signed the 32-year-old Argentine star on a deal that will run until 2023.
They explained that Aguero will “join the Club from 1 July when his contract with Manchester City expires”, and also that “his buy-out clause is set at 100 million euros.”
The news comes two months after Aguero announced that he would be leaving the Citizens, for whom he has scored 260 goals in 390 appearances – and helped them win five English Premier League titles – over a ten-year period.
This is not the first time that the striker has played for a Spanish club: in 2006, he joined Atletico Madrid from Club Atletico Independiente. He played there for five years, helping them win a Europa League title before joining City in 2011.
