Spurs Agree on Loan Deal for Atalanta Goalkeeper

Tottenham Hotspur have apparently wrapped up a loan deal with Atalanta goalkeeper, Pierluigi Gollini.

According to reports, Gollini is set to join the English club on a loan deal that will run until the summer of 2022. The deal comes with an option to extend the loan until 2023, plus it comes with an option to buy for €15 million at the end of next season.

For a while now, the Spurs have been looking for a goalkeeper who will serve as a long-term replacement for 34-year-old Hugo Lloris. Judging from his resume, Gollini is an ideal candidate for the role.

At 26, the Italian player has started every season for Atalanta after signing with the club in 2018. Two years prior, he was signed to Aston Villa, for whom he put in 20 appearances. It is said that he has yet to “reach his peak”, with his goalkeeping abilities improving with every appearance.

The Spurs are likely to announce Gollini’s signing in due course.
