Xola Mlambo Lifts Lid on Marumo Gallants Exit

Former Marumo Gallants player, Xola Mlambo, has opened up about his departure from the club.
In August 2024, Mlambo left TS Galaxy to join Gallants, reuniting with coach Dan Malesela. The two had previously worked together in the mid-2010s at Chippa United, where Malesela was the coach and Mlambo was a player.
In February of this year, Malesela was sacked. Shortly thereafter, Mlambo – who had played in 10 matches across all competitions and scored a single league goal – was released, despite having several months remaining on his contract.
Appearing on the “Switch On Network” podcast on Tuesday, 24 June, Mlambo lifted the lid on his exit.
“I left Marumo Gallants in February,” the 34-year-old midfielder told host Mbale Nyembe. “I think [Malesela] left on the 21st, if not the 22nd of February.
“After that, I received a letter from the club stating that my contract would be terminated. So, I don’t want to stay in a place where I’m not wanted. I accept everything, and I don’t fight.”
Mlambo’s future destination remains unknown. For now, he is dealing with legal matters concerning unpaid salaries from TS Galaxy.
