Alexander-Arnold Injury Makes England Sweat
Trent Alexander-Arnold has left the English national team nervous after he limped off the field during their clash against Austria on Wednesday, 2 June.
The Three Lions won the international friendly 1-0, but their 22-year-old defender injured himself while clearing the ball in the second half of the game. He grimaced as he was assisted off the pitch of the Riverside Stadium in Middlesbrough.
England coach, Gareth Southgate, gave a relatively young side a taste of international football for the match in preparation for the UEFA EURO 2020, but he will know in the next 24-to-48 hours if the Liverpool star will need to be replaced in the final 26-man squad for the tournament.
Southgate said: “I think it’s a thigh, but the medical team are assessing [Alexander-Arnold] … We don’t know the full extent.”
With just 11 days before the start of EURO 2020, many fans are crossing their fingers for good news.
