Amakhosi Eyes Rising AmaZulu Star

AmaZulu FC attacking midfielder and winger, Sphesihle Maduna, has apparently attracted the attention of Kaizer Chiefs.

Under the previous coachmanship of Brandon Truter, Maduna flourished on-field during AmaZulu’s 2021/2022 Premier League Soccer (PSL) campaign and made 21 appearances across all competitions for them.

However, with Romain Folz currently coaching Usuthu, the 22-year-old has been on and off for the team.

If reports are anything to go by, Maduna’s contract expires in June next year, so Kaizer Chiefs have two options on their hands: to sign him to a pre-contract in the upcoming January transfer window, or to buy out the rest of his contract.

Should Amakhosi pursue the latter option, then it would cost them a whopping R5 million out of their pocket.

AmaZulu has yet to confirm or deny Amakhosi’s pursuit of Maduna, so we’ll be keeping a close eye when January rolls around.
