AmaZulu Bolster Midfield with Signing of Mason Mushore
AmaZulu FC have completed the permanent signing of Zimbabwean midfielder Mason Mushore from Highlanders FC.
The 24-year-old international arrives as head coach, Arthur Zwane, seeks to address depth issues following a series of injuries to key players.
Zwane explained that the recruitment was necessary after losing multiple options simultaneously. He noted: “We saw the need to bring in another defensive midfielder with the quality to bring the ball forward.”
Mushore is expected to provide both defensive discipline and technical composure as the club pushes for a top-eight finish and potential CAF Confederation Cup qualification.
Club president Sandile Zungu personally welcomed the newcomer, stating: “We welcome Mason to the AmaZulu family and are confident that he will add value and prove himself in our midfield.”
Mushore expressed gratitude for the reception, noting that Zungu “told me that he believes in me and wants me to fight for the team.”
Beyond the senior squad, the Durban-based club also confirmed Kurt Lentjies as the new DStv Diski Challenge head coach, supported by assistant Thabo Mngomeni. AmaZulu will return to competitive action on 25 January.
