AmaZulu Star Bonginkosi Ntuli, 32, Passes Away
AmaZulu FC striker, Bonginkosi Ntuli, has passed away at the age of 32.
After cutting his teeth at Golden Arrows, Mamelodi Sundowns and Platinum Stars, Ntuli was loaned out by Sundowns to AmaZulu in 2018. A year later, he joined them on a permanent basis – to date, he had scored 35 goals in 85 appearances across all competitions for Usuthu.
Unfortunately, in a statement published on Sunday, 5 November, the club confirmed that the striker had succumbed to cancer earlier that day.
“Ntuli was (very recently) diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer, which metastasized and ultimately led to his death at the Midlands Medical Centre Private Hospital, in Pietermaritzburg [KwaZulu-Natal], this afternoon,” the statement reads.
“May his beautiful soul rest in eternal peace. The club requests privacy and patience be granted to his family and friends at this difficult time.”
Details regarding his memorial service and funeral are expected to be shared in due course.
