Bernard Parker Provides Positive Injury Update
TS Galaxy midfielder, Bernard Parker, is on the mend and hopes to make a comeback early next year.
In mid-October, when Galaxy took on Mamelodi Sundowns in a Carling Knockout Cup match at Mbombela Stadium in Mpumalanga, Parker was on the receiving end of a tackle by Sundowns midfielder, Bongani Zungu.
As a result, the 37-year-old sustained a broken leg, which he feared would cost him his career.
Now, judging from the recent videos that he has uploaded to his Instagram account – in which he is seen in training – Parker is seemingly recovering well.
He also revealed in an interview (published on Thursday, 30 November) that he is looking to make a return in 2024.
“Realistically, according to the doctors’ views, it’s up to myself how quick I can get back,” he explained. “But they predict I will be back in February, but latest [in] March. It will depend on me; obviously, I’m taking my recovery very well.
“I hope to be better around that time or sooner … I want to take my time so I can get back stronger and better as a player. To help the team finish off in a respective position.”
