Brad Pitt Speaks Out on Shocking Scam

Brad Pitt has spoken out for the first time following reports that a French woman was scammed out of nearly all of her life savings by someone posing as him.

In a recent interview with a French news show, the victim – who calls herself Anne – revealed that in early 2023, she was first contacted on Instagram by someone claiming to be the “Moneyball” star’s mother, Jane Etta Pitt.

From that point on, Anne started interacting with someone she believed to be the real Pitt, who used fake social media accounts and images generated by artificial intelligence (AI) to convince her that he was the real deal.

The fraudster also used AI imagery to make her believe that he was unwell, playing on her sympathies to extract over $850 000 from her for his supposed treatments.

However, Anne realised it was a scam when photos of the 61-year-old actor – looking healthy and vibrant while out and about with his new girlfriend, Inés de Ramon – circulated online in 2024.

On Wednesday, 15 January, a representative for Pitt released the following statement:

“It’s awful that scammers take advantage of the strong bond between fans and celebrities. This is an important reminder not to respond to unsolicited online messages, especially from actors who are not present on social networks.”
