Burnley Youth Spotted at Orlando Pirates
Former Burnley U18 forward, Tremaine Eastmond, has been spotted training with Orlando Pirates.
According to reports, Eastmond was recently seen training with the Gauteng club, in the hopes of impressing coach Jose Riveiro and earning a contract.
Joining Burnley’s U18 team in 2020, the 20-year-old Englishman scored four goals in 27 appearances across all competitions. He also had stints with Prestwich Heys, Abbey Hey and AFC Blackpool.
In October 2023, Eastmond arrived in South Africa, playing for Cape Town Spurs on a free transfer. However, due to receiving little gametime, he was released from the club at the end of the last Premier Soccer League (PSL) season.
Judging from the aforementioned reports, Tremaine is looking to establish himself in the PSL, and the Buccaneers – who currently occupy third place on the league rankings – may be his club of choice to raise his profile.
If Riveiro decides to sign him, then Eastmond could very well take the place of forward Kermit Erasmus, whose run with Pirates has been hampered by constant injuries.
