Celeb Twitter Round-Up: Lebo M. Gets Engaged – AGAIN!

Composer Lebo M. is proving to be the living, breathing definition of “If at first you don’t succeed, try, try again” (if not “Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, and expecting different results”) after getting engaged to his on-off girlfriend, Malefu “Mel” Ntsala.

On Sunday, 1 June, Lebo M. – real name Lebo Morake – posted some pics to his Instagram account, which shows him and Ntsala having a good time together on a yacht in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, where he proposed to her:

“The day we stop believing in love and possibilities, is the day we stop dreaming. Absolutely grateful to have fulfilled my dream & [sic] begin this new chapter with you. Love always,” reads the caption, complete with a heart emoji.

Lebo M. has had his fair share of rides on the marriage roundabout, complete with a few trips on the divorce rollercoaster. And yet, between his failed relationships, Ntsala has always been a constant presence, despite the couple’s own ups and downs over the years. In a way, though, it kinda makes sense that the 60-year-old muso decided to put a(nother) ring on it.

Over on the streets of Twitter/X, netizens had extremely mixed feelings about their engagement, from poking fun at Lebo M.’s lack of luck (or perhaps a smorgasbord of it?) in the love department, to accusing Ntsala of being a gold digger:

Hey, hey, don’t wish that kinda evil on them yet! They may just prove us wrong and make this marriage work. Fingers and toes crossed that Lebo M. and his bride-to-be will be together for years to come!
