Chelsea Eyeing Champions League Striker

Inter Milan might be willing to sell their top-rated striker, Lautaro Martinez, if Chelsea are willing to splurge this transfer season.

A report surfaced on Tuesday, 9 January, that the Italian club would be willing to consider bids between £80 million and £100 million for the 26-year-old Argentine professional.

The news will be of interest to the London-based side, who have been eyeing Martinez for several years as he’s earned himself a reputation as a player to watch on the field with his quick footwork.

For Chelsea – who have had an embarrassing couple of seasons and are looking to recover a bit of their dignity – a strong striker could be very appealing to bolster their ranks.

The Blues claimed Martinez’s former teammate, forward Romelu Lukaku, for £100 million in 2021. While Lukaku is currently on loan to AS Roma, all indications suggest that he and Martinez could make a powerful pair, if reunited under the blue banner.

While Martinez seems to be fairly happy with his place at Inter Milan at the moment and Chelsea have made no firm moves for the footballer, a generous bid could change things very quickly.
