Chris Wilder Fired by Sheffield United
Sheffield United has dismissed Chris Wilder as head coach, after almost five years in charge, as the club now faces relegation.
Wilder was appointed as the Blades’ manager in 2016, and successfully managed to get the club promoted from League One to the English Premier League.
Despite having one of the lowest wage bills in the league, the team finished in the ninth position last season in their first year back.
However, they have been at the bottom of the EPL table for most of this season and are now at risk of being relegated.
Sheffield United is only 13 points from safety with only 10 matches remaining.
Apparently the relationship between Wilder and the club owner, Abdullah Bin Musa’ad Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, has turned sour and they’re no longer seeing things eye to eye.
The owner alleges that he spent sufficient funds during the transfer window for players, however, the team isn’t showing any improvements.
