DJ Dimplez Laid to Rest

DJ Dimplez has been laid to rest in a private ceremony.

The 29-year-old deejay/producer – real name Boitumelo Mooi – passed away last Sunday, 6 March, after suffering from a sudden brain haemorrhage.

Per reports, Dimplez’s family members and closest friends bid their farewells to him at a ceremony held at a private venue in Johannesburg this morning, Friday 11 March.

The date and venue of his official memorial service are yet to be announced, although the family did indicate that members of the public are welcome to attend, albeit in compliance with coronavirus regulations.

Tributes continue to flow in from fans, friends and celebs alike on social media, with collaborator Reason giving his late friend his flowers.

“The only joy I have is knowing that I got a chance to express my love and appreciation to you in person,” he tweeted. “I had let you down last year and You loved, forgave and schooled me through it. Like an older brother would. And for that… I poured my heart out to you [sic].”
