Doja Cat’s Brother Accused of Abuse
The mother of Doja Cat has filed a temporary restraining order against the singer’s allegedly abusive older brother, Raman Dalithando Dlamini.
Per documents obtained by US media outlets, Deborah Elizabeth Sawyer filed documents last Friday, 12 January, at the Los Angeles Superior Court in California, in which she accused her 30-year-old son of being physically and verbally abusive towards his 28-year-old sister.
Reading into Sawyer’s claims, Dlamini has perpetrated the following crimes against Doja Cat (real name Amala Dlamini): knocking her teeth out; battering her to the point of leaving cuts and bruises; stealing and/or damaging her personal belongings; and reproaching her “in a very degrading and demeaning manner.”
The most recent incident involving abuse took place this month, although it was not specified what occurred.
Overall, says Sawyer, Dlamini’s alleged actions have left the “Say So” hitmaker feeling “unsafe and traumatised.”
A judge granted Sawyer a temporary restraining order against Dlamini – one of many she has filed against him since 2017 – but it is up to Doja Cat herself to file her own request if she wishes for legal protection against her brother.
Doja Cat has yet to comment publicly on these events.
