Everton Agree to Transfer Deal with Barca for Coutinho
Everton reportedly have shockingly ‘agreed on paper’ with Barcelona to sign former Liverpool attacker, Philippe Coutinho, for £35million during the next transfer window.
The Brazilian footballer spent five years at Liverpool but left for Barcelona in 2018 and was later loaned out to Bayern Munich – he helped them win the domestic double and the Champions League before returning back to Camp Nou in 2020.
The Barcelona star played a few matches for the Catalonians before suffering an injury in December 2020 and has been sidelined since then. He underwent a knee surgery earlier this month.
Despite his condition, the Toffees are confident that landing the services of Liverpool’s former Little Magician will bolster their squad and grant them the opportunity to fight for the Premier League’s top-six.
However, the deal will only be finalised once Everton has received assurance about Coutinho’s fitness.
The 28-year-old forward is reportedly recovering well and might be back to Merseyside in the next season.
