Ex-Chiefs Star Could Be Joining SuperSport
Kaizer Chiefs legend, Bernard Parker, is seemingly set to join SuperSport United.
The 36-year-old midfielder – who made 283 appearances for the Glamour Boys between 2011 and 2022 – was let go by the club when his contract expired last month.
As such, Chiefs were considering offering Parker a non-playing role at the club, most likely a position in the coaching team.
But now, according to recent reports, he has been spotted training with the SuperSport squad.
“Parker has started training with SuperSport United, where his former Kaizer Chiefs coach, Gavin Hunt, recently took over as head coach,” a source explained to a soccer outlet. “He trained with the team, and he looks sharp. Gavin regards him highly, so anything can happen.”
Neither Parker nor SuperSport have commented on these reports, although the midfielder’s agent, Mike Makaab, says that they are “speaking to a few clubs that have shown an interest.”
“He still wants to play,” said Makaab. “The guy is in great physical shape, so we will just wait and see.”
