Ex-Chiefs Star Joins Cape Town City

Former Kaizer Chiefs defender, Lorenzo Gordinho, is officially on the payroll of Cape Town City FC.

Earlier this week, the club announced that the 28-year-old is now a member of the Citizens.

“Cape Town City is delighted to announce the signing of South African international defender Lorenzo Gordinho on a three-year deal,” they said in a Twitter statement. “Gordinho will be eligible to play from the 1st of January 2023.”

Gordinho previously played for Kaizer Chiefs from 2013 to 2020, in which he scored seven goals in 58 appearances. After a brief stint with Bidvest Wits, he then joined Denmark outfit, Viborg, where he played until mid-2022 when he joined HB Koge.

Speaking about his new club, Gordinho remarked, “The team is in a good space, and my biggest ambition is to help the team reach the projected goal for the season and that’s the most important thing.”
